Project for encouraging childbirth in rural areas
In October 2024, Lotte Group delivered the 'Life Sprout' birth kits to Gyeongsang Province to solve the problem of low birth rates
and population decline.
The ‘Life Sprout’ birth kit consists of essential items for pregnancy and postpartum care, including health supplements, snacks for
expectant mothers, and maternity and baby care products. Through the Salvation Army, we distributed kits worth a total of 60
million KRW to 300 rural households (including families expecting a child) to support healthy childbirth and parenting in local
communities.
Project for a Community Child Center's environmental improvement
and emotional support for low-income children
A community child center is being transformed into a space filled with children's laughter.
It's not just about replacing old desks and worn-out wallpaper, we want to create a space that reflects their dreams.
‘Mom’s Happiness Dream Attic’ is keeping pace with the digital era by offering children hands-on programs in coding, AI, and more.
For children with limited access to cultural and experiential activities due to regional or economic conditions, we also provide
opportunities such as visits to theme parks in Seoul and Busan, science museum tours, and other enriching cultural experiences.
Project for improving children's play environments and
addressing childcare issues
‘Mom’s Happiness Playground’ is a project to bring safe and welcoming play spaces for children across the country. We involve
children and local residents from beginning of the playground's creation and it is characterized by building a space that is different
from the surrounding amusement facilities.
Since 2023, we have newly established public indoor playgrounds to ensure that children can engage
in play activities freely without being affected by environmental factors.
Military library project for supporting
cultural spaces of service members
‘Youth Library’ selects and establishes reading spaces in military units nationwide, prioritizing those in need through the Army, Navy,
and Air Force headquarters. Designed like a book cafe, these spaces provide service members with a comfortable environment
where they can engage in reading, enrich their humanities education, and pursue self-development during their service.
Since 2022, we have also been hosting book concert events for them using the Youth Library, featuring lectures by renowned figures,
artistic performances, and counseling sessions to provide inspiration and support.
A social contribution program with young people to
consider social issues from an ESG perspective
'Value for ESG' aims to drive real change in solving social issues by empowering university students to plan
and execute volunteer activities themselves.
Moving beyond traditional volunteering, this program provides young people with opportunities to support
local communities in creative and sustainable ways while putting ESG values into action.
Environmental improvement project for
Grandparent-Grandchild households in rural areas
We improved the living environment for 50 grandparent-grandchild households in rural areas through initiatives
such as "Heartful Dining" (improving a kitchen space), “Dream Fulfillment" (enhancing a study space),
and "Safe Haven" (renovation of hazardous areas like bathrooms).
In addition, we supported cultural experiences, such as visits to an aquarium and Seoul Sky, to help families
create precious memories together.
A campaign to improve disability awareness
with people with and without disabilities
The 'Super Blue Marathon,' co-hosted by Special Olympics Korea and the Lotte Group, is a meaningful event where people
with and without disabilities run together as one, promoting awareness and understanding of disabilities. It has been held
annually since 2015, bringing together 8,000 participants each year to run the same course. More than just a sporting
event, it serves as an opportunity to break down barriers, embrace differences, and experience true unity.
Support for recovery from domestic and international
disasters such as wildfires and heavy rainfall
Lotte Group has established an emergency relief cooperation system with the Korea Disaster Relief Association
and the Korea Foundation for Cooperation of Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs, securing disaster relief
funds and preparing relief kits. We are prepared to provide swift on-site support to communities affected by
disasters such as wildfires and heavy rainfall, and other hardships.
Additionally, in 2020, we donated 1 billion KRW to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and restore local
communities, while also providing diagnostic kits and supplies to Indonesia, Vietnam, and Pakistan.
